Animations - the difference between green och red shots

Green shot - easy because:
  • The goalkeeper has free sight to the puck for more than 0.5 second before the shot.
  • Body and head does not need to be laterally moved or rotated during the last 0.5 second before the shot. This allows the goalkeeper to gaze at the puck for more than 0.5 seconds to build up the Quiet Eye, and can therefore make a controlled save.
This animation demonstrates an A-shot.

The same shot is shown below, but at the real playback speed.
Red shot - difficult because:
  • The body and head needs to move laterally and rotate during the last 0.5 second before the shot. The goalkeeper does not get enough time to gaze the puck after the movement. The movement ‘reset’ the Quiet eye.

This anmiation demonstrates a G-shot.

The same shot is shown below, but at the real playback speed.
